Welcome back to the Sutta Meditation Series Podcast.
This is a Dhamma Talk on the Pamādavihārī Sutta (SN35.97) - The Buddha's Discourse on Dwelling Negligently. It was delivered on 4 July 2020 to a meditation group with practitioners residing across the globe.
During this Dhamma talk we:
- looked at the definitions of pamāda and appamāda
- provided some context around why vigilance is important in the Buddha's teachings
- reviewed the sutta and why we need to practice vigilance
- examined the sense faculties, organs and sense objects, and
- meditated on each sense faculty to see know what leads to negligence, and what leads to vigilance.
